Hari Om

The most important philosophy and effectively the only mission of this website is to actively participate and substantially contribute for the natural formation of a strong National and Global interfaith movement respecting sentiments, core principles and values of all Religions of Humankind to create and promote a True ALL FAITH - Classless and Casteless Society (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam*) as envisaged by the Maharishis and Seers of Vedic Religion, which is committed to guarantee self realization at individual level and the attainment of universal peace at mundane level.

*Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (“vasudha’, the earth; “iva’, is ; and “kutumbakam’, family) is a Sanskrit phrase that means that the whole world is one united (single) family.

The concept originates in the Vedic scripture Maha Upanishad (Chapter 6, Verse 72):

ayam bandhurayam neti ganana laghuchetasam udaracharitanam tu vasudhaiva kutumbakam

Only small men (with narrow mindedness) discriminate saying: One is a relative; the other is a stranger. For those who live magnanimously with expansion of mind, the entire world constitutes but a family.

Vaastu Miscellaneous.

While building or buying a house there should be a good place left in all sides of the house, when the out-house is built in the arena.

The house should not be bi-furcated after the construction. It is better to build separate houses from the beginning instead of doing partition after completion. This stands good in the case of rentals, too.

All the walls of the terrace should be the same in width as of the ground floor. When it is desired to make it thin, the space should be left equally on both sides of the wall, to hold the weight perfectly in the center. For example when the wall of the ground floor should be of 18", the wall of the terrace is of 14" or 9", and be built in between the width of the ground-wall, leaving equal place on both sides. This will strengthen the walls, too, to hold the weight equally and properly.

The divergent or convergent constructions should not be made with the opening towards south. In divergent construction, when the south is left open with the building in east and north, it will become most harmful as per Vaastu. Similarly drastic unforeseen things will happen, when the south is left open in convergent structures, as the building would be in east, north and west.

It is better to hang the churning stick to a poll. The person should face east, while churning and cooking food in the kitchen. The pots for drinking water should not be put exclusively in northeast, touching the walls in north and east. No pails be constructed to put the pots in northeast. In southwest the pots be arranged on the platform.

All the domestic objects such as brooms, pestles and so on must be kept in south western corner; not in the northeast, even for a short while. The waste should not be kept in northeast accumulated; but should be disposed off frequently. Grinders, mixers and any such heavier gadgets must be kept alongside the west, and southern southwestern walls in the respective rooms, as per convenience.

It is most beneficent to put the almirah in southwest corner facing north. It may be placed in that corner, facing north. It may be placed in that corner, facing east, which also augurs very well. Some experts of Vaastu, opine, that the almirahs be kept in north, the place of Kubera, the god of riches and in northeast, the god of Abundance; but, it seems to be, that they have forgotten the disasters of heaviness in northeast and so on. It´s not a presumption but the solid results of experience.

Refrigerators, iron-box, shoe-rack, tables, sofa-sets, etc; must be placed in southern and western rooms along with the southern and western walls. TV antenna should be fixed in southwest on a pail. Never, it should be in northeast. The fodder for the animals can be arranged in south and west.

It´s better that the cots, which are not in use, should be placed along with the southern or western walls. It´s a good habit to sleep on the left side.

The windows must be provided in northeastern room, when they are provided in southwestern room.

One should not hesitate to arrange water pots in southwest on pails, as it is prohibited only under the ground level, in a sump or pit.

The bathrooms can be constructed in southwest, but not be made gradient.

If your house has more open vacant space in south than in north, it will lead to destruction and downfall, be it a house or an industry, or a temple or a hut. More open space in the east than in the west is auspicious; the principle holds true for more open space in the north than in the south too. Open space should be kept all around the building. The plot having road on the east-north directions is better.

Heavy stuff
Keep your heavy and permanent items in the south-west corner of the building or plot. For a happy family life place more heavy items in the rooms south-west and south-sides. On the other hand, the lighter (weightless) items should be in the north, north-east and north-west directions. TV, radio or any other entertainment device should be placed near the south-west corner.

While sleeping head should be in the east or south. Never sleep with feet towards south or east.

Water tanks
Water tanks should be on the roof in the south-west direction. Never place these in north or north-east corner. Underground water tank should be built in north-east direction only. Flow of water and its outlet in the directions other than east, north-west, north-east and north causes troubles.

Pooja room is always best in the north-east corner or near it. Kitchen is always auspicious and best in the south-east corner. Guest room or drawing room should be in the north or west direction. Room for the watchman or guard should be near the gate in the boundary wall on the left side. Toilet should ideally be in north-west corner. In case you've a space-crunch, it may be constructed in any direction, but the seat in the toilet should be such that when using the toilet you face towards south or north only.

There should be only one main door of the house, which should be adorned with auspicious symbols. If more than one door are required, take care not to have two doors opposite each other. All the doors and windows should be of the same height, upper edges being in the same straight line. Avoid a door above a door. This principle does not apply on multi-storey buildings. The door on upper floor should be shorter than that on the lower floor. A temple can have doors on all the four sides. The wall, on the side in which main door is to kept, should be divided in nine equal parts (length-wise)-leave five parts on the right and three on the left, door should be constructed in the remaining one part or in the 7th part. Door of the staircase should face either east or south.

Vaastu and Family Life
A well or any other pit in the south-east, south-west or north-west direction, will lead to quarrels in the family.

Pictures and scenes of war and battles, idols/statues of demons, pictures of pig (boar), leopard, tiger, jackal, serpent, eagle, owl, pigeon, hawk, crow, and crane are inauspicious.
